Mr.
and Mrs. Clayton Timmons created the Mackinac Island Cemetery
Preservation Fund to support the work of the Mackinac Island
Cemetery Board. The projects of the board include repair
of the stone walls and repair and replacement of cemetery
stones.
The Cemetery Board received a grant in
December 2004 to begin work on marking unmarked graves
in the Mackinac Island Cemetery and hopes to mark up to five
graves per year.
