Dora duPont Williams Fund
The Dora duPont Williams Fund For Music
was established by her daughter, Susan Lenfestey, as a tribute
to her mother Dora’s love of music and Mackinac. Having
first come to Mackinac during the 1930s to await her husband’s
completion of the Chicago to Mackinac Yacht race, Dora, and
her husband Lynn, purchased a cottage on the East Bluff in
1972.
Dora enjoyed spending much of her Island time
working to create a music festival on Mackinac bringing in
many groups, including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. The
Dora duPont Williams Fund For Music aims to bring high quality
live music to the Mackinac Island Public School and to the
Mackinac Island community.
