MICF Promotes Safety with Bicycle Helmet Contest
The MICF launched a contest at its annual celebration on June 24 to encourage everyone to wear a bicycle helmet. Marlee Brown conceived of the idea in honor of a friend, Jim Juday, who died in a bicycle accident.
Anyone can submit a design for consideration to be the Island's "Official Bicycle Helmet." The community foundation is working with an Oregon company called Nutcase Helmets to create a helmet from the winning design.
The MICF is accepting applications throughout the summer. Download the design contest entry form and template here.
In August the foundation will choose the top three entries and invite people to vote for the winner. The helmets will be available next summer.
