Once again the summer breezes will carry strains of beautiful music to our ears. The Foundation has put together a series of five concerts for your listening enjoyment and all performances will be held at historic Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church.

To begin the series we welcome Roger Humphrey back to share his wonderful classical guitar with us on July 11th, at 2 P.M. Roger has been spending many summers on the island and plays at weddings and other events. When not on the island he teaches guitar downstate.

On July 25th, at 2 P.M. the Northern Michigan Flute Choir will once again amaze us with their magical harmonies. This group of ladies brings their love of music to many venues throughout the state and has graced our series before.

As August rolls in we are presented with a very special treat. Pat Pulte, owner of the Murray Hotel and the Inn on Mackinac is hosting a String Quintet from the Woodward Corridor Musicians. They have graciously agreed to provide the island with a free concert on Sunday, August 1st, at 5 P.M.

Island musician Heather May has been performing on the island for many years. Now, she has joined with Megan Kahn and they will entice us with a wonderful flute and saxophone duet on August 15th, at 2 P.M.

Our final concert in this year’s series will be our own John Kissane playing many of your favorite songs on the piano. John has lived on the island since 1997 and a countless number of people have enjoyed listening to him at many different venues. John will play on August 29th, at 2 P.M.

Please join us for one or all of these concerts. They are funded by the Music Fund held with the Foundation and through the generosity of Pat Pulte.

All concerts are free with a suggested donation to support the Community Foundation.
